Top NHL picks January 17: Oilers, Kraken should put on another high-scoring show

There are eight NHL games on the schedule tonight.

The Seattle Kraken and Edmonton Oilers are going to go three-for-three on hitting the over in their games this season. The Winnipeg Jets should stay hot against a lesser opponent and the Arizona Coyotes look hopeless on offence.

SEA/EDM are the best bet for tonight's NHL slate.

Edmonton and Seattle meet tonight. The Oilers have been a well-oiled scoring machine this season. Seattle can't match that, but they can contribute to the over. Seattle and Edmonton have both hit the overs on this line in both prior meetings this year.

Jets 60-min ML is too expensive for individual picks, but the team is one of the hottest in the NHL. Winnipeg has won eight of its past nine games in regulation. Montreal has lost eight out of last 11 games at the 60 minute mark.

Arizona is on a nine-game losing streak and has scored less than 2.5 goals in six of its last seven games. Detroit has had fewer than 3 goals against opponents on zero days of rest in three of the last six games it has played.
