Trevor Lawrence has led the Jaguars to five straight wins entering Week 10, but it’s not entirely accurate to say that he’s carried the team all by himself during this stretch. During the streak, the Jacksonville defense has held opponents to 16.2 points per game.
But this week against San Francisco, we could see Lawrence asked to shoulder more of the offensive responsibilities. The Niners have a team total of 24.5 points, meaning it could take more from Lawrence to compete in this one. That’s especially true if San Francisco’s fifth-ranked rushing defense (86.1 opponent rushing yards per game) limits Jags running back Travis Etienne.
Because of their run-stuffing nature, the Niners tend to allow opposing quarterbacks to complete more passes than most teams--because teams are throwing more against them. Lawrence has cleared this 23.5-completion line four times, but I like his chances against a team allowing 26.5 completions per game (30th in the NFL). At +100 odds, DraftKings has the best odds on this prop.

At the end of the day, we like Lawrence to post solid passing numbers. But it’s difficult to project multiple passing touchdowns for the Jaguars in this matchup against a San Francisco defense debuting newly acquired Chase Young on the pass rush. Though San Francisco is stingy against the run, Jacksonville wants to run it in the red zone; Etienne has three multi-touchdown games in the past four weeks, which could boost our cause here if he eats up some of Lawrence’s scoring chances.
