Walt Harris vs. Josh Parisian Betting Analysis and Prediction

Another UFC events is set to take place this weekend from the APEX. One of the most interesting fights on the main card will be a heavyweight matchup between two veterans, Walt Harris, and Josh Parisian.

Read further to take a look at the Harris vs Parisian betting analysis and prediction before making your picks this weekend.

Walt Harris vs Josh Parisian

Location of the fight: UFC APEX, Las Vegas, NV.

Date and Time: Saturday, July 15. 10:00 PM ET main card start.

How to Watch: ESPN+

Harris is coming off a first-round TKO loss to Marcin Tybura back in June of 2021.

Parisian is also coming off a loss, which was a decision to Jamal Pogues.

Harris is a 6’5” heavyweight that needs to cut weight to make the 265 lb limit. At the age of 40, Harris has a professional MMA record of 13-10, with all 13 of his wins coming via KO. He trains out of his hometown in Alabama and has made a name for himself with all his early finishes.

The southpaw fighter averages 3.05 significant strikes landed per minute, and 3.33 significant strikes absorbed. Harris also has a solid 70% takedown defense as a big man.

Parisian has a very similar build to Walt Harris. Both of these guys will probably need to cut weight to make that heavyweight limit on Friday morning. Parisian fights out of Scorpion Fight System in Michigan and has a professional record of 15-6 with 11 KOs and 2 submissions.

The orthodox fighter averages 4.45 significant strikes landed per minute while absorbing 4.50 of those in a minute as well. The little wrinkle to his game is averaging just over 1 takedown per 15 minutes in the octagon.

No injuries have been reported to the UFC.

The Harris vs Parisian betting lines have Harris as the -160 betting favorite over the +140 Parisian. The over/under is set at 1.5 rounds, with the under going at -130. The fight going the distance is at +220 odds, proving how dangerous both of these guys are.

Outside of the UFC odds, previewing this fight is pretty difficult to do. Harris hasn’t been in the octagon for over 2 years and is 40 years old, but he has experience against top heavyweights over Parisian.

Both guys are massive human beings and have tons of power in their hands. The outcome of this fight might solely depend on whether or not Parisian goes for and lands a takedown. That can draw this fight out a lot longer than usual.

This fight is an example of why UFC predictions are so difficult to make. Even with heavyweights that aren’t at the top of the division, the fight is still very close. The question marks behind how Harris will look after two years off and at the age of 40 is an issue.

Since this fight is basically worthy of a coin flip, let’s go a different route with the bets.

  • The official Harris vs Parisian betting prediction is that the bout ends within 1.5 rounds. Take the under 1.5 rounds at -130; the fight ends inside the distance at -280, and/or either of them wins by TKO/KO.

You can actually have a better chance of winning by betting for this fight to end by a knockout than picking one fighter to win. It’s a close fight between two guys that do not want to fight for 15 minutes.
