Who might take on heavyweights Galopin Des Champs and Energumene on Sunday?

Galopin Des Champs is a Cheltenham Gold Cup favourite. He is set to make his seasonal reappearance in the John Durkan Memorial Chase at Punchestown on Sunday. Willie Mullins has left out some of his horses from the initial 14 entries. The winner of the last nine Grade 1 races has been won by the same trainer seven times. Gordon Elliott could run Gigginstown pair Conflated and Fury Road. Fakir D'Oudairies is the only horse left who ran in last year's race won the Mullin's-trained Allaho.

Energumene, Galopin Des Champs and Appreciate It could make their comeback on Sunday. Energuemene won the Grade 2 Hilly Way Chase at Cork last year. App appreciate It won a 24-length Supreme Novices' Hurdle in 2021. He could also make his chasing debut in the 2m1f beginners' chase at Punchestown.
