2-Point Conversion: Bucs, Bowles Finally Solve The Rams
The Buccaneers beat the Rams 16-13 to end their three-game losing skid. Tom Brady hit Cade Otton for a game-winning touchdown with nine seconds left.
Tampa Bay came from behind to beat the Rams 16-13. Todd Bowles' defense finally solved the Los Angeles offense. Rams' offensive line is in shambles and their running game is bad. Cooper Kupp was limited to seven catches for 58 yards and one touchdown. Carlton Davis III returned from injury. The Bucs are 4-5 on the season. The Rams are 3-6. Tampa Bay stopped a three-game losing streak. Los A.L. lost to the team dating back to 2020. They were beaten by Baltimore last week. Their running offense was held to 68 yards on 24 carries (2.8 avg.) and they didn't have a running back.
Bucs general manager Jason Licht has done a great job of building a Super Bowl-winning roster. Several key pieces of the roster came from the NFL Draft. Cade Otton and Jake Camarda were both drafted in the fourth round. Otto caught all four passes for 58 yards in fourth quarter, including the game-winner. Camardsa is a starter at three positions, punter, holder and kickoff specialist. He got a game ball on Sunday. He should be the NFC Special Teams Player of The Week.
Tampa Bay's win over the Rams took 3 hours and 3 minutes. Referee Shawn Hochuli told head coach Todd Bowles not to challenge Jake Camarda's punt. The league office wants to keep the game moving. The delay of the CBS 60 Minutes show on Sunday night was a reason why the delay was necessary. Tampa Bay needed the extra time to get the ball back to the offense with 44 seconds left. It was the defense's final stop that won the match.
Chris Godwin has played half of the season and hasn't found the end zone yet. Godlin has 42 catches for 404 yards on the year and is averaging just 9.6 yards per catch. He has two games with 70 yards receiving or more and his best effort was a six-catch, 95-yard effort at Pittsburgh. It will take Godin a full year to regain his Pro Bowl form.
Tampa Bay is now top of the NFC South. The team needs to beat the Seahawks in Germany to get back to .500. They have already beaten New Orleans and Atlanta.
Vita Vea needs 3 more sacks this season to reach 10. Warren Sapp is the last defensive tackle to get double digits in a season. Gerald McCoy came close in 2013 with 9.5 sacks.
