The Lions punched their ticket to the divisional round and clinched their first playoff game win since 1992. (In that season, they lost to Washington in the Conference Championship.) Now they’re aiming to make it back to the conference title game with a win over the Bucs this Sunday.

It’s looking good. They beat their old QB Matt Stafford and the LA Rams in a revenge match this past Sunday. The game was close, but the Lions looked strong, with Jared Goff throwing for 277 yards, Amon-Ra St. Brown getting 110 receiving, and David Montgomery, Jahmyr Gibbs, and Sam LaPorta all getting a touchdown.

Detroit also has a win over Tampa Bay already. In Week 6, they beat the Bucs 20-6 and held them to their lowest score in any game this season. Their defense is ready for Bucs quarterback Baker Mayfield, too. Aidan Hutchinson has racked up 1.5 sacks in the regular season and sacked Stafford twice last Sunday.

We’re waiting to see if LaPort is 100% for this game. He was wrestling a knee injury in the game against the Rams (but still scored).

Tampa Bay struggled in the first part of the regular season, finishing just 9-8 and only clinching a playoff birth in the 11th hour. But those numbers don’t tell the whole story of the Bucs squad that will be in Detroit this Sunday.

They won six of their final seven games and dominated their first playoff game against the Eagles. Mayfield is clapping back at trash talk from the Lions, and the Bucs have just been looking a lot more consistent.

Mayfield set a playoff recordin yards and touchdowns against the Eagles, and receivers David Moore, Trey Palmer, and Chris Godwin all made effective TD targets.

They’re looking better than ever at the right point in their season.

We think the Lions can win this game and make it to the Conference Championship. But the return on the moneyline isn’t great – oddsmakers and the market clearly think the Lions will win, too.

So, we’re going with this for our best bet: Buccaneers to cover the 6.5-point spread. If they keep playing like they’ve been, they can keep this to a one-score game.
