Pitso Mosimane's record and trophies as head coach of Al Ahly!

Pitso Mosimane has ended his relationship with Al Ahly which lasted for 20 months between October 2020 and June 2022.

Mosimane leaves as one of the most decorated coaches on the African continent following the success he enjoyed with Al Ahly.

The 57-year-old mentor is yet to reveal his next destination now that his request to leave Al Ahly has officially been granted.

PITSO MOSIMANE’S RECORD AND TROPHIES AS AL AHLY COACH

Mosimane leaves Al Ahly having been in charge of 97 competitive matches since his arrival from Mamelodi Sundowns in 2020.

He won an impressive 65 of the 97 matches, drew 22 and lost just 10, including twice to former club Sundowns in the CAF Champions League.

Mosimane undoubtedly cemented his legendary status as one of Africa’s best with back-to-back CAF Champions League titles during his tenure with Al Ahly.

He won his first CAF Champions League title within the first few months in charge, and his second in his first full season.

It could have been three CAF Champions League titles in a row for Mosimane had Al Ahly managed to beat Wydad Athletic Club in May’s final.

Mosimane delivered two CAF Super Cup titles for Al Ahly as well as the Egypt Cup during his tenure as head coach.

And while he was there when Al Ahly won the Egyptian Premier League (EPL), the Red Devils had already won the title, and Mosimane isn’t really credited for the triumph.

Lastly, Mosimane defied the odds on the international stage as he twice guided Al Ahly to a third-place finish at the FIFA Club World Cup and thus, bagging the bronze medals.
