2022-23 NHL Betting Guide: Projected points, division odds and playoff odds as of Nov. 7th

The NHL Futures page is a continuation of the 2022-23 Hockey Betting Guide. It gives the projected point total, chances of making the playoffs and chances to win the division for all 32 teams.

It's been one month since the NHL season started. Some teams I had projected to miss the playoffs are now looking good. Other teams, like the Washington Capitals, have run into trouble. The next two and a half weeks are going to be crucial in determining which teams are real and which are not.

Vegas Golden Knights - Pacific Division Winner +240 is the best bet.

Calgary Flames have lost five of their last seven games. Vegas sits six points ahead of the next best team in the Pacific Division. Golden Knights are a good bet if you can get them at the best odds. They are currently at +240. They have the top-five teams in almost every offensive and defensive category.

Colorado Avalanche are the favorites to win the Central Division in 2022-23. The biggest shocker is that the Predators and Blues have been as bad as they have. Minnesota is dealing with injuries and they no longer look like an elite team. Winnipeg has great goalkeeping from Connor Hellebuyck, but they're not an intriguing bet at -105. There's no chance that Chicago or Arizona will make the playoffs.

The New Jersey Devils are the current favorite to win the Metropolitan Division. Carolina is the most complete team, but the Devils currently rank as the best team through the lens of expected goals. The other teams like Pittsburgh and Washington are not as good as they seem.

The Boston Bruins are 10-2-0 and have a four-point lead over the next best team. The Bruins have one game in hand on Toronto. Boston is also one of the favourites to win the Stanley Cup. The Red Wings are unlikely to make the playoffs. Ottawa is more likely to be in the picture than Boston, Toronto, Tampa Bay and Florida.
