2022 MCWS Championship Preview: Oklahoma vs. Ole Miss

The Oklahoma Sooners are going to play for a national championship in Omaha. The last two times they reached this point, they went on to win the College World Series. Ole Miss came into the postseason tournament with a losing record in SEC play but they are now playing up to their potential. This is the first time in school history that the Rebels have made the championship game.

Ole Miss vs. Oklahoma is the first game of the MCWS Championship Series. It starts at 6:00 p.m. CT on Saturday, June 25.

Ole Miss vs. Oklahoma is the MCWS Championship Game 2 on Sunday, June 26 at 6:00 p.m. CT on ESPN.

Ole Miss and Oklahoma are playing for the MCWS Championship on Monday, June 27 at 6:00 p.m. CT.

Oklahoma Sooners are in the NCAA Tournament. They are undefeated since the last series loss on April 10. Ole Miss had a hard time in regular season and was 35-22 coming into the tournament. Since then, they have been on a tear and are the public favorite to win the championship.

Oklahoma went a perfect 3-0 on their side of the bracket and will come into the weekend completely rested. Jake Bennett will start for Oklahoma on Saturday. Bennett was solid against Texas A&M last Friday, allowing five hits, four earned runs and striking out three with no walks in six innings of work.

Peyton Graham is a difference-maker in the field and at the plate for Oklahoma. Graham has batted .545 since getting to Omaha and has scored four runs himself.

Hunter Elliott is a freshman All-American pitcher for Ole Miss. He was the starter against Arkansas on Monday. Elliott pitched 6.1 innings with only one earned run on six hits with four strikeouts and two walks.

Dylan DeLucia is the best pitcher for Ole Miss. Neither team that faced him in Omaha was able to get going. If the series goes to three games, Oklahoma will have to try and solve De Lucia.

Oklahoma has won all three games in Omaha. Ole Miss had to play an extra game on Thursday to make the Championship series. The team that won the extra match burned its starter. Fatigue might play a role in how this series plays out.

Oklahoma is the first school to win a national title in both softball and baseball in the same year. They will play Ole Miss in a best-of-three series. The winner will be crowned the champions.
