This may not be an upset as far as rankings are concerned, considering Ole Miss is just two spots behind Alabama in the AP poll. But the Rebels are a touchdown underdog, last beating the Crimson Tide in 2015.

It’s an odd time in Tuscaloosa. Past Alabama squads would shellack a team like South Florida after a loss, but the 2023 Crimson Tide were tied with the Bulls at half-time before winning 17-3.

Jalen Milroe will start again for Alabama, but his ability to keep pace with Ole Miss’ dynamic offense is questionable.

The Rebels have scored 37 or more points in wins over Mercer, No. 24 Tulane, and Georgia Tech. Alabama’s defense is superior to Ole Miss’ previous opponents, but the Tide’s offense will still fail to match Lane Kiffin and Co.

Jaxson Dart is having an excellent year, with 852 passing yards, seven touchdowns, 213 rushing yards, and two scores on the ground. His go-to WR is Jordan Watkins, with 290 yards.

BYU has proven it belongs in the Big 12 by starting the year 3-0, highlighted by a road victory over Arkansas in Week 3.

The Cougars erased a 14-0 deficit by scoring 21 unanswered points on the Razorbacks. Late in the fourth quarter, Arkansas trailed by a touchdown and started a drive at the 50-yard line with a chance to tie the game, but BYU’s defense stood tall, clinching a 38-31 upset win.

Kansas’ strength is its rushing attack, averaging 216 yards per game, which is third-best in the Big 12. But BYU boasts a strong run defense that allows only 99 yards per game, creating a matchup advantage for the Cougars.

After a down season under first-year head coach Brent Venables in 2022, Oklahoma has rebounded nicely with three victories to kick off 2023. The Sooners scored 139 points against inferior opponents in Arkansas State and Tulsa but struggled to match those outputs in a 28-11 win over SMU.

Oklahoma faces another quality defense this week, and the Bearcats will successfully decelerate the Sooners’ high-scoring offense. Expect Corey Kiner and Cincinnati’s rushers to wreak havoc on Oklahoma’s defense.

Plus, Cincinnati has home-field advantage and added motivation following a 31-24 loss to Miami (OH) in Week 3.
