2022 MLB Draft: Washington Nationals draft LHP Jake Bennett again; 45th overall in 2nd Round

Washington's Nationals drafted Jake Bennett out of high school in the 39th Round in 2019. Bennett will go to the University of Oklahoma. His high-school teammate Cade Cavalli was drafted by the Nats 22nd overall in 2020.

Bennett was drafted by the Nationals again last night. He was selected with the 45th overall pick in the 2nd round. Bennett played college baseball at Oklahoma. The southpaw is comfortable in and throwing strikes. He is also comfortable with his body and has improved his mechanics. His strike-throwing has always come natural to him. It helps him to attack hitters and let his stuff play. he was named First-Team All-Big 12 Conference and to the Big 12 All Tournament Team.
