August is a relatively slow month for sports. There are UEFA Super Cup, FIBA Basketball World Cup and Vuelta a Espana cycling. The US Open is played towards the end of the month.
The 2023 NFL season starts on September 7th. There is a Rugby World Cup from September 8th to October 28th and the final IndyCar race of the season takes place on October 10th in Monterey.
October is the only month when all the pro sports leagues are in action. The NHL, NFL and NBA are playing regular season games. The MLB World Series is also taking place in October.
