Location of the fight: Saitama Super Arena, Saitama, Japan.

How to Watch: Showtime

Horiguchi is coming off a big win in the last Bellator vs Rizin event–beating Hiromasa Ougikubo in a unanimous decision.

Takahashi is fresh off an impressive submission victory at Rizin 41 in April over Daichi Kitakata.

“The Karate Kid” Horiguchi has been training since he was 5 years old and has had quite the MMA career thus far. He is currently 31-5 with 19 finishes (15 KO) in his professional career. He is the former bantamweight champion in both Bellator and Rizin. Now he will test his luck to become the flyweight title holder.

Training at American Top Team was a huge move for him in his career. And has only gotten better with the training partners and coaching he gets in Coconut Creek, Florida.

Takahashi is one of the most exciting young MMA prospects in the entire world. At only 23 years old, he is already 16-1-1 with 4 submissions. This kid is currently a flyweight but will for sure move up to bantamweight as he grows into his own body and matures. He is currently on a 10-fight winning streak and will look to get a massive upset victory on Saturday night in front of the Japanese crowd. Fighting one of Japan’s best.

No injuries have been reported to Bellator MMA or Rizin in this bout.

This bout will be for the first Bellator flyweight title.

The Horiguchi vs Takahashi betting lines say that Horiguchi is the massive -650 betting favorite over the +400 Takahashi. There are no prop bets available this early on in fight week. But keep your eyes on your sportsbook throughout this week.

On the technical side of this fight, the game plans for each of these fighters should be pretty easy to predict. Horiguchi is a high-level karate-style fighter. He will want to keep the fight on the feet and do damage with his weapons.

Takahashi is very good at grappling. And is becoming an expert at taking his opponent’s back while threatening submissions from many different positions where the fight takes him.

Even though there hasn’t been much about this bout in Bellator news or any MMA promotions online, this should be an important fight to watch if you are an MMA fan. This is the beginning of a flyweight division for Bellator, and another historic event with Bellator and Rizin collaborating.

  • The official Horiguchi vs Takahashi betting prediction is that Horiguchi will get his hand raised and become Bellator’s first flyweight champion; continuing his legendary career as an MMA champion in multiple promotions.

There aren’t any prop bets available right now, but keep an eye out for what odds Horiguchi has to win a decision, and what the over/under is. This fight is probably going to last more than a couple of rounds, but there might be a late-round stoppage by Horiguchi against this inexperienced fighter.
