The 151 Open Championship at Royal Liverpool is here and sportsbooks are offering tons of betting markets to the public ahead of golf's fourth and final major of the season.

Below are our favorite 2023 British Open props including finishing positions, matchup bets and Open Championship long-shot picks.

2023 British Open props: Odds, picks and long shots including Brooks Koepka props

Royal Liverpool will host the British Open for the 13 time in its storied history this week as 156 of the world’s best hit the links.

The last time The Open was played on this course was 2014, with Rory McIlroy becoming Champion Golfer of the Year. Below are our favorite British open props including odds for Brooks Koepka, Collin Morikawa, and more.

Open Championship prop bets: Collin Morikawa to finish top 20 (+150 or better)

Collin Morikawa won the first British Open he competed in at Royal St. George’s in 2021. He promptly followed that up with a missed cut in 2022. We hope he can land somewhere in the middle this year to cash in on some plus-money odds.

Morikawa is still without a win this season, but he’s played solid golf – particularly at majors.

In the year’s previous three big ones, the 26-year-old finished T10, T26, and T14. Morikawa’s accuracy off the tee should come in handy at Royal Liverpool, where players will be rewarded for precision more than the longball.

The two-time major winner is coming off a T2 after he and Adam Hadwin fell to Rickie Fowler in a playoff at the Rocket Mortgage Classic.

British Open prop bets: Brooks Koepka to win Group B (+240 at FanDuel)

Before LIV and before his PGA Tour card, Brooks Koepka earned his stripes on the European Challenge Tour. That experience has led to success at the British Open for Koepka, who has finished with two T6s and a T4 in his last five appearances. He also had a T10 at St. Andrews in 2015.

The Florida native is one of just 20 players in history to win five majors, while his competition in this group has combined for zero majors and just five total PGA Tour victories.

Brooks has crushed it at the year’s first three majors, winning the PGA Championship, finishing T2 at The Masters, and T17 at the U.S. Open. Other golfers in Group B: Tommy Fleetwood, Viktor Hovland, Tyrrell Hatton.

British Open long shot picks: Brooks Koepka Round 1 leader (+3300 or better)

This bet falls into the category of a long shot, but you could do worse than Brooks Koepka at +3300 for a flier.

After winning the PGA Championship, Koepka couldn’t get much going at the U.S. Open but still finished at a respectable T17. He'll look to regain his form at a tournament in which he's fared well throughout his career.

The five-time major winner has yet to hoist a Claret Jug, but he does have four Top 10 finishes in his last six appearances at the British Open.

Someone has to be on top after the first round, and since it’s a bit of a crapshoot, sprinkling a few bucks on a proven winner isn’t the worst idea. For context, Rory McIlroy is the favorite in this category at +1800.

British Open props: Winning margin picks (+240 to +350)

Picking the winning margin prop at a major golf tournament is akin to picking the Gatorade color prop at the Super Bowl. You’ll get decent odds with any bet you choose, but you’ll also need a bit of luck. However, there is some data that we can look at to help you take your best shot.

BetMGM is one of the best golf betting sites around and offers five options for winning margin bets: 1 stroke = +240, 2 strokes = +350, 3 strokes = +650, 4+ strokes = +350, Playoff = +350.

While a one-stroke victory is a heavy favorite here, it’s only happened three times in the last 20 years.

The last 20 British Open winning margins:

  • 1 stroke: 3 times
  • 2 strokes: 4 times
  • 3 strokes: 4 times
  • 4+ strokes: 4 times
  • Playoff: 5 times
