It’s surprising to see the Phillies this low on the board, even in a division with the loaded Mets and Braves. Philadelphia made the World Series a year ago and finished only two wins shy of claiming the crown for themselves.

Not resting on their laurels, the team made some serious splashes in the offseason, adding coveted free agents Trea Turner and Taijuan Walker, and shoring up their bullpen with the additions of Craig Kimbrel and Gregory Soto.

Tommy John surgery for Bryce Harper will keep him out for the first half of the season, and that’s surely weighing down the team’s odds, but he’ll be back for the second half and the postseason, making the Phillies a great value for anyone brave enough to get in now.

Toronto Blue Jays +1300

The Blue Jays disappointed last season, but the front office did some nice things, revamping their outfield, and adding more starting pitching depth with the signing of Chris Bassitt. They’ll be in for another very strong regular season, and will likely need to make some moves at the trade deadline for this to be the year they make a strong playoff push around the core of Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Bo Bichette, and George Springer.

Seattle Mariners +1300

For the most part, the Mariners’ timeline for contention really sped up with the breakout season Julio Rodriguez enjoyed a year ago. The team added some pieces in Teoscar Hernandez and A.J. Pollock to play alongside J-Rod in the outfield as the team’s poised for a return to the playoffs. I’m an M’s fan, and it’s hard for me not to bet some money on the Mariners MLB World Series futures odds at +1300.

Tampa Bay Rays +2200
