2024 NBA futures odds: Denver Nuggets favorite to repeat as champions next season

The Denver Nuggets made history Monday night, winning their first NBA championship by beating the Miami Heat in five games.

The Nuggets were also playing in their first NBA Finals in the franchise’s 47-year history. Their victory at home gave the city of Denver its second consecutive professional sports championship, as the Colorado Avalanche won the 2022 Stanley Cup. Prior to that, the last title to come home to Denver was in 2016 when the Broncos won Super Bowl 50.

Nuggets center Nikola Jokic won the Bill Russell trophy as the MVP of the NBA Finals after winning the league MVP as well this season for the second consecutive year. He also became the first player in NBA history to put up 500 points, 250 rebounds and 150 assists in a single postseason.

Jokic barely missed averaging a triple-double during the playoffs, scoring 30 points, grabbing 13.5 rebounds and dishing out 9.5 assists per game. While the odds for league MVP in 2024 haven’t been released yet, the Joker’s name has to be at the top of the list to defend his most valuable player award.

Speaking of next season, the Nuggets are the consensus favorite to repeat as NBA champions in 2024 by all four major sportsbooks: +460 at FanDuel, +475 at Caesars and DraftKings, and +500 at BetMGM.

The Boston Celtics are second on the odds boards at CaesarsBetMGM and DraftKings at +550 and third at FanDuel at +500, while the Milwaukee Bucks are +460 at FanDuel and between +600 and +700 at the other three books.
