2025 CFP National Champion odds: Georgia opens as favorites

The 2024 CFP National Championship ended with Michigan defeating Washington, and the odds are already out for who will win it in 2025.

The 2025 CFP field will consist of 12 teams instead of four, which opens the door for teams that normally wouldn’t have a shot at a title to be able to compete in the postseason, but it’s the usual suspects who are at the top of the early odds chart.

Georgia and Alabama open as the national title early favorites, with Georgia the overall favorite at +450 and Alabama not far behind at +600 as the SEC looks to get back to being national champions.

Alabama fell short against the eventual champion Michigan in the semifinals, whereas Georgia missed the four-team field, but they appear strong heading into the 2024 season with quarterbacks Carson Beck and Jalen Milroe set to return.

Milroe is the early Heisman Trophy favorite along with Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers at +750, and the SEC will be even tougher next season with Texas and Oklahoma set to join the conference, and Ewers’ Longhorns are among the national championship contenders at +900.

Ohio State (+800) and Michigan (+1000) are in the mix once again and have the best odds among non-SEC teams, but they’ll both be undergoing some transitions, especially Michigan with head coach Jim Harbaugh likely headed to the NFL.

Oregon is also in the mix at +1100 and will be joining Ohio State and Michigan in the Big Ten, and LSU (+1400) represents yet another SEC team in the mix along with Ole Miss (+1600).

Florida State (+1800) and Clemson (+2000) are the only teams not from the SEC or Big Ten with odds at +2000 or below, and Notre Dame isn’t too far behind at +2500.

The 2025 CFP National Championship Game will be later than usual due to the expanded field, with kickoff set for Monday, Jan. 20 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
