QB Cam Ward listed on early Heisman Trophy betting odds

Way too early 2024 Heisman Trophy betting odds are out via Fan Duel Sportsbook and UM quarterback Cam Ward has some an intriguing number attached to his name.

Ward currently has +2000 odds (bet $100 and win $2,000) to win the Heisman Trophy in 2024. There are 13 other players with better or the same odds as Ward.

All of the top 13 players are quarterbacks.

Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers and Georgia signal caller Carson Beck open as the betting favorites for the Heisman at +750 odds.

Of the quarterbacks listed above, Ward is the second most productive in 2023, trailing only UGA’s Carson Beck, who played in two more games.

In 12 games at Washington State, Ward threw for 3,736 yards along with 25 touchdowns and seven interceptions while completing 66.6 percent of his attempts. Ward also rushed for eight touchdowns for the Cougars in 2023.

Ward has transferred to Miami for the 2024 season and will look to improve his NFL Draft stock while playing behind a better offensive line and a stronger rushing attack, compared to what he worked with at Washington State.

The addition of Ward gives UM the type of firepower to push for a ten win season and make a run at an ACC Championship in 2024—and that type of on-field success would put Ward in a Heisman Trophy conversation.

Beck is coming off a 2023 season at Georgia in which he threw for 3,941 yards with 24 touchdowns and six interceptions while rushing for four touchdowns. Ewers threw for 3,479 yards with 22 touchdowns and six interceptions while rushing for five touchdowns at Texas in 2023.

Howard and Gabriel are transfers who are expected to lead their new teams to the College Football Playoff.
