6 Canucks players to watch at the 2022 Young Stars Classic

The Vancouver Canucks are playing in the Young Stars Tournament in Penticton this weekend. The tournament begins on Friday and ends on Monday. Vancouver will play Edmonton on Thursday at 7:30 pm, Winnipeg on Sunday at 2:00 pm and Calgary on Tuesday at 5: 30 pm.

Jett Woo is one of the Canucks players to watch at the 2022 Young Stars Classic. Woo has played 72 games in the AHL and two playoff games as a forward. He is a right-shot defenceman who loves to stick up for his teammates and drop the gloves. Last season he struggled with injuries and didn't take a step in development. It's the final year of his entry-level contract and he needs to prove himself.

Linus Karlsson is one of the Canucks players to watch at the 2022 Young Stars Classic. He has spent the past four seasons in the Allsvenskan or SHL leagues. The Canucks expect him to be the trigger-man on the first power play unit and play consistently in top-six for the YoungStars group. His foot speed may limit his effectiveness at even-strength.

Linus Karlsson scored 17 of his 19 goals in the Swedish Super League this season.

Danila Klimovich, 19, is coming off his first pro season and looking to be more of an offensive producer in his sophomore year. He should play near the top of the lineup at the Young Stars tournament. The tournament is a good chance for Klinovich to grow his confidence and get some good shot attempts off at five-on-five and on the power play.

Arturs Silovs is a 21-year-old goaltender who plays for Abbotsford Canucks. He is expected to play a lot of games in the NHL this coming season. Ryan Johnson confirms that Silova will be the horse for the Canucks at the 2022 Young Stars Classic.

Chad Nychuk is making the jump to the AHL with the Abbotsford Canucks. He played for Brandon Wheat Kings in the WHL. The Canucks development camp saw him play well. Now he is playing in a tournament with other prospects.

Kirill Kudryavtsev, a 2022 seventh-round pick, is playing in the Young Stars Classic this weekend. He was unable to attend Canucks development camp. This will be his first in-person viewing. It's one of the Canucks' youngest players.
