80-1 shot races to huge upset in Kentucky Derby

Rich Strike, an 80-1 shot, won the Kentucky Derby. Epicenter finished second and Zandon third. It was the second-biggest upset in the Derby's 148-year history. Only Donerail in 1913 had a higher payout of $184.90.  Jockey Sonny Leon and trainer Eric Reed were in their first Derby, having lost nearly two dozen horses in a barn fire five years ago. They were riding on the same jockey, Calvin Borel, who rode Mine That Bird in 2009. He had previously lost many horses at his training center in Lexington.
