80-1 long-shot Rich Strike crosses finish line first in Kentucky Derby

80-1 long-shot Rich Strike wins Kentucky Derby. It's the second-biggest upset in the Derby's 148-year history. Epicenter finished second, Zandon third. Jockey Sonny Leon and trainer Kenny McPeek's horses finished eighth and ninth. The chestnut colt had just two previous wins in his career. He was purchased by Dawson for $30,000 last fall. His jockey, from Venezuela, was in their first Derby, having lost nearly two dozen horses in a barn fire at his training center in Lexington five years ago.
