The Longhorns haven’t played to their potential this season, but Max Abmas — whose first of two NCAA Tournament trips produced Oral Roberts’ Cinderella run to the Sweet 16 — is made for March.

While the Wildcats face the pressure of needing multiple wins to earn an invitation to the dance, Texas — which won last year’s Big 12 Tournament before reaching the Elite Eight — is only playing for seeding, having gone 17-3 against unranked teams this season, including a Feb. 19 win over Kansas State.
