Alpinista fights off Tuesday at York

Alpinista wins by a length at York. Frankel mare has won top-level races in Germany and France on her previous four starts. Tuesday finished second. La Petite Coco came third. Alpinista is 8/1 for Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.

Alpinista won the Arc this year. Prescott trained Alpinist's family. Alpine has won Group One in England, France and Germany. The stable had hoped to win the Coronation Cup and King George. Last year they had won three Group Ones in Germany, but Torquator Tasso came and won Arc.

Morris is looking forward to the first Sunday in October. He is the lucky one who gets to sit on her a couple of times a year. He thinks the Yorkshire Oaks looked a little top heavy with Aidan's horse, but he thought it had a lot of depth and she had to give 9lb away to second.

Aidan O'Brien is satisfied with Tuesday's performance in the Darley Yorkshire Oaks. Tuesday finished second to Alpinista. O’Brien hopes Tuesday will have at least one more outing this term. La Petite Coco finished third behind Alpine. The Paddy Twomey-trained filly took the Group One Pretty Polly at the Curragh on her first start of the season. The ground was soft, which may have hindered La petite coco. It was a good cover on top and a firm one underneath. She is in contention for the Arc. and other races. for Aidan O'sBrien.

Alpinista won the Darley Yorkshire Oaks at York. She is bidding for a fifth successive win at the highest level. Alpinista's options now would be a crack at Arc de Triomphe or a trip to Ascot for the Fillies& Mares.
