Sir Mark Prescott has never been to Germany. Alpinista has been there three times, to win three Group 1s. Luke Morris has also been in Germany at least three time with Alpineista. Sir Mark hasn't been racing in France for 21 years. He's not interested in foreign travel. It's more about the aftermath of the race that puts him off. This year he's going to be at the Yorkshire Oaks. He'll be ringing each and every one of his 59 owners. he has trained a significant winner to add to his now 52-year total. His favourite food is lime cordial and sausages. The Yorkshire Oaks is about as long-haul as he'll countenance.

Alpinista is going to the Arc. Trainer William Prescott has been training since 1970. He has to work hard to keep the business afloat. Last year he had 46 winners from 50 boxes. William is considering making Butler a partner in the company. He is not planning to retire. Alpinista has a good chance of winning the race. The draw is difficult. Germans and French horses are known to improve for the event. It is possible that Alpine will win theArc. Luke will ride her. She has trained all year for this. Her trainer is optimistic. They are hoping for a heavy race, but not too heavy.
