Cave Rock won the Del Mar Futurity by 5 1/4 lengths. The colt has a high speed figure and posted strong figures for a 2-year-old in September. He needed urging to put away his stablemate Havnameltdown. He won a local Best Pal Stakes (G3) in his previous start. It's possible that he could continue to progress as a star in the Bob Baffert barn. In the Futurities, the margins are spaced out between the first three finishers. Skinner came one length to the fourth-place finisher Newgate.
