Arsenal comfortably defeated North London rivals Tottenham on Sunday to extend their lead at the top of the table to 8 points. An own goal from Spurs’ goalkeeper Hugo Lloris and a fine strike from Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard was enough to sink Antonio Conte’s men and give the Gunners the derby day bragging rights. Forward Gabriel Jesus is still at least a month away from making a return from injury so Eddie Nketiah will continue to lead the line for Arsenal.
Man United followed up their win over Man City with a disappointing draw vs Crystal Palace on Wednesday. United took the lead through Bruno Fernandes just before half time but Palace fought back in the second period and got their reward in added time, Michael Olise finding the net from 25 yards with a stunning free kick. One of the main men behind United’s turnaround in form this season has been Casemiro, but the Red Devils will have to cope without him on Sunday after he picked up a one-game suspension following his 5th booking of the season. New signing Wout Weghorst made his debut in the loss vs Palace and despite some bright moments he failed to register a shot on target.
