Ascot Champions Day tips: Baaeed set to bow out a legend, Frankie Dettori on Inspiral, Trueshan vs Eldar Eldarov, William Buick champion jockey and more

Champions Day at Ascot is on Saturday. There are five group races, including the Sprint Stakes, Queen Elizabeth Stake and Champion Stages. Baaeed, rated 135, is going to go off on his final race odds-on ahead of Adayar, Bay Bridge, My Prospero and more middle distance greats.

Champions Day kicks off with the Fillies & Mares Stakes in Berkshire. Long Distance Cup and Class 2 Balmoral handicap are the last two events.

Long Distance Cup (Group 2) takes place on 1.25. Trueshan is the favourite, but Waterville is only marginally ahead. Eldar Eldarov is coming into this race on the back of a Group 1 victory beating Haskoy by two lengths in the St Leger last month.

Dubawi colt has won both times when upped in distance to a minimum of 1m6f. Coltrane is 7/2 for the race. Andrew Balding-trained gelding beat Trueshan in the Doncaster Cup.

Frankie Dettori will ride Inspiral in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes. He will also ride Kinross in Sprint Stake. Kinros has won three times in a row now. Dittori has ridden him the last five times.

Emily Upjohn is the favourite for the Group 1 race. She has been unfortunate in her last two races. Eternal Pearl is trained by Charlie Appleby and ridden by William Buick. Lilac Road is a 16/1 each-way chance.  Ascot Champions Day takes place on Tuesday at 2.40. It's a race for fillies and mares. The winner will be announced at 4.50. There are some interesting races on the card.

Inspiral won the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot in June. She went off 1/7 favourite at Newmarket but lost to Prosperous Voyage. Inspiral returned to winning ways under Frankie Dettori at Deauville in the Group 1 Prix du Haras de Fresnay-le-Buffard Jacques le Marois in August.

Baaeed is the second-highest rated horse in the world and the top-rated horse on Europe. He has ten wins in ten runs and is set to win the Champion Stakes. Baaed is expected to take home £737,230 on his final race.
