Astros vs. Rangers prediction and odds for ALCS Game 5

After having a 2-0 lead on the series, the Texas Rangers have lost two straight and are now in a best-of-three showdown with the Houston Astros in the ALCS.

Thankfully, Jordan Montgomery takes the mound for Texas tonight. He's been fantastic in the postseason and if he has another stellar start tonight, the Rangers can take command of the series. He'll face off against Justin Verlander of the Astros.

In two of his three starts this postseason, Jordan Montgomery has allowed zero earned runs including Game 1 against the Astros when he pitched 6.1 scoreless innings. In his only start against the Astros in the regular season, he gave up just one earned runs in 6.2 innings.

Montgomery clearly knows how to pitch against the Houston lineup and I expect that to carry into today's game.

Let's also remember the Rangers have had the better offensive numbers this postseason. They have a .256 batting average so far in the playoffs, compared to .254 of the Astros.

They'll take on Verlander tonight, who they scored two earned runs in five hits against in Game 1.

I think the Rangers get back on track with a win in Game 5.
