AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am Picks & Odds 2024: Outrights, Props & Long Shots

We're making our AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am picks with Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler fronting the strong field as the PGA Tour betting favorites based on the odds from our best golf betting sites.

A strong 80-man field is in California this week for the 2024 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Rory McIlroy, who enters the week at No. 2 in the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) leads the field - including world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler - as the betting favorite.

With this tournament being elevated to a Signature Event as part of the PGA Tour's new schedule, it looks different than it usually does.

With only 80 golfers competing, gone are most of the celebrity amateurs. The tournament will also be played over only two courses rather than the usual three, and there will be no cut. Three of four rounds by everyone will be played on Pebble Beach Golf Links, with Spyglass Hill being used for one of the Thursday or Friday rounds.

Below, we're making our AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am picks based on the golf odds from our best sports betting apps.

Don't forget to look ahead to the WM Phoenix Open odds for a shot at early value.

AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am picks

Pick to win: Justin Thomas

Thomas has been playing great golf since late summer despite failing to qualify for the FedEx Cup Playoffs and being left off the U.S. Ryder Cup team. The two-time major winner tied for 12th in the Wyndham Championship, finished solo fifth in the Fortinet Championship, fourth in the DP World Tour's Nedbank Golf Challenge, and most recently - T-3 in The American Express.

He enters this week's elite field as the leader in strokes gained: around-the-green over his last 14 measured rounds. He's gaining strokes in every other key metric, including 0.96 SG: approach. That figure ranks seventh among everyone with at least 10 measured rounds played in that time.

Thomas has very limited history at Pebble Beach GL with just three rounds played - including a missed cut in the 2019 U.S. Open - but this is a new-look event and Thomas enters in excellent form.

Best prop: Jason Day top rest of the world

Day leads this field with 29 career rounds played at Pebble Beach Golf Links. That bodes well with that course being used for three of the four rounds by everyone in the field this week, rather than just two rounds as it was used previously.

Day has performed admirably over those 29 rounds with an average of 1.55 true strokes gained on the field per round at this week's main venue. He didn't play the Pebble Beach Pro-Am last week, but he finished fourth in 2020 and tied for seventh in 2021, before returning to the PGA Tour's winner's circle in May's AT&T Byron Nelson.

Day also ranks among the field leaders in SG: around-the-green, and he's one of the longer hitters in attendance this week. He missed the cut in last week's Farmers Insurance Open, but the added rest could prove to be a benefit, especially with few similarities between the two courses.

Long shot pick: Brian Harman

Long-shot winners have been the theme of the 2024 PGA Tour season thus far. We now have a chance to follow that early-season trend while also backing the latest major winner.

Harman enters the week ninth in the OWGR following a disappointing T-70 finish in the DP World Tour's Hero Dubai Desert Classic, but he previously tied for fifth in The Sentry against another Signature Event field. He has limited experience at Pebble Beach Golf Links, though he sets up as a strong course fit.

Harman ranked third on the PGA Tour in sand save percentage last year, and he was 63rd in birdie-or-better percentage from inside 125 yards. We know he can beat the best golfers in the world (by a wide margin) and this +9000 ticket is disrespectful.

Pebble Beach Golf Links

  • Par: 72
  • Length: 6,972 yards
  • Greens: Poa Annua
  • Architect: Jack Neville, Douglas Grant

The 2024 Pebble Beach Pro-Am will be played on just two courses rather than the three-course rotation typically used for this event. Pebble Beach Golf Links will be played by all 80 members of the field during their first or second round, and then for both the third and fourth rounds by everybody. Spyglass Hill will be the secondary course used on Thursday or Friday.

Sand bunkers are the predominant hazards on both courses, in addition to the Pacific Ocean.
