2024 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am odds, picks, field, predictions: Expert fading Scottie Scheffler at Pebble Beach

The strongest field in tournament history will square off at historic Pebble Beach Golf Links when play begins at the 2024 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am beginning on Thursday. Because of the tournament being elevated to one of the PGA Tour's signature events, the 2024 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am has attracted 14 of the top 15 players in the Official World Golf Ranking, including world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler for the first time in his career. Also, world No. 2 Rory McIlroy is playing in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am for the first time since 2018.

McIlroy is the +750 favorite in the latest 2024 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am odds. Scheffler (+850), Xander Schauffele (+1200), and reigning FedEx Cup champion Viktor Hovland (+1200) round out the top four choices in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am field. Before locking in any 2024 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am picks, make sure you see the PGA Tour predictions and best bets from golf betting and fantasy expert Sia Nejad.

Nejad specializes in betting and DFS in golf, among other sports. He's had incredible success in the outright and first-round leader markets and in betting head-to-head matchups. He also has been on fire with his head-to-head matchups since last year's Charles Schwab Challenge, going 28-15-1 and returning 10.41 units over that span. That's a $1,041 profit for $100 bettors since May 2023.

Nejad also nailed 75-1 longshot Wyndham Clark as the outright winner at the Wells Fargo Championship. In 2023, SportsLine debuted "The Early Wedge," and in the first three months of the show, he hit two first-round leaders and three outright winners.

Now, Nejad has focused his attention on the 2024 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am field and has locked in his best bets, top sleepers, and favorites to avoid. See who they are at SportsLine.

Top 2024 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am expert picks

One surprise: Nejad is completely fading Scheffler, even though he is the No. 1 player in the world. Scheffler's putting woes have been well documented. He ranked 162nd on the PGA Tour last season in strokes gained: putting, which prompted him to seek the help of renowned putting coach Phil Kenyon. While Scheffler has since won the unofficial Hero World Challenge, he still ranks 143rd in putting.

In addition, Scheffler has limited experience at Pebble Beach. In his only start at Pebble Beach as a professional, he missed the cut at the 2019 U.S. Open. "His outright odds are simply too short, given how many players may be able to contend this week," Nejad told SportsLine.

However, Nejad is high on the chances of Justin Thomas, who is listed at +2500. Thomas famously is coming off a career-worst 2022-23 season in which he missed the cut six times and earned just four top-10 finishes in 21 starts. He also failed to win a tournament for the first time since he joined the PGA Tour in 2015.

However, Thomas enters the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am with his game trending in the right direction. He has finished top three in back-to-back starts: the Hero World Challenge and The American Express. "Thomas continued to gain strokes in a big way on approach, around the green and putting at The American Express, and I think the outright odds have not caught up to his outright potential," Nejad said. See whom else to back at SportsLine.
