Aztecs end regular season with a thud heard round the world, lose to Air Force 13-3.

Air Force beat San Diego State 13-3. The Aztecs were held to 188 passing yards and -1 rushing. Zyrus Fiaseu was ejected for targeting and Cooper McDonald was injured. Air Force is second in the conference by virtue of their victory over San Jose State. The team is 7-5 and 5- 3 in conference. They will play in a bowl game. It is the first time in ten years that Air force beat the Aztics.

Air Force beat San Diego State 13-3. Brad Roberts had 187 yards rushing. The Aztecs had 188 passing yards and -1 rushing, with Jordan Byrd as their leading rusher. Quarterback Jalen Mayden managed only 188 yards on 16/31 passing and two interceptions. Brionne Penny led receivers with 3 catches for 63 yards, Tyrell Shavers 3 more catches, Mark Redman 2 for 34 yards. Jesse Matthews had 4 catches but only 29 yards for the game. The game was all field goals outside of the first offensive series. Both teams struggled to achieve success with any of their drives.

Both Dallas Branch and Jalen Mayden have said they will be returning for next season. The Aztecs are bowl eligible and there are several bowl possibilities. There are seven bowl-eligible teams in the conference. The winner between Boise and Fresno goes to the LA Bowl. They played in Frisco Bowl last year against UTSA. It is up to bowl committees to decide where they play. For the rest, there will only be Hawaii, Potato, Arizona and New Mexico Bowls. This is the same conference that had seven teams last season, so there is a chance for them to play in all of them.
