Basel came from behind to score twice in the final 20 minutes, including a 91st minute winner to ensure a they take a first leg back to Switzerland.

Arthur Cabral gave the Serie A side the lead in the first half before goals from Andy Diouf and a late winner from Zeki Amdouni made sure Basel head into the second leg favourites to make it through to next month's final in Prague.

Vincenzo Italiano's side remain eighth in the Serie A table after Sunday's 2-0 victory over Udinese, just their second win in their last nine games in all competitions.

Fiorentina haven't won a trophy since their 2001 Coppa Italia victory, and have two fantastic chances to put that run to an end, but will need to improve their form and upset the odds to do so.

Basel have hosted Fiorentina once before, in a Europa League group stage match in 2015. The same scoreline on Thursday would send the Swiss side through to the final for a straight shot at their first ever European trophy.
