Rice Owls and Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles will play in the LendingTree Bowl at Hancock Whitney Stadium in Mobile, Alabama. Southern Miss played in Conference USA for 26 seasons. Rice and SMU have played each other 12 times since 2007. The all-time series is tied at 6-6.

The New Mexico Bowl will air on ABC at 7:30 pm ET from University Stadium in Albuquerque. SMU Mustangs and BYU Cougars finished the 2022 season 7-5 and both teams qualified for a bowl game. Rashee Rice has declared for the NFL Draft. BYU will turn to third-string quarterback Cade Fennegan.

The Frisco Bowl is taking place at Toyota Stadium in Friscos, Texas. North Texas will play against Boise State. The game will kick off at 9:15 pm ET on ESPN. Phil Bennett will be the head coach for NorthTexas. He previously managed the 2010 Pittsburgh Panthers to a win at the BBVA Compass Bowl over Kentucky.
