BetRivers Super Bowl props: 49ers vs. Chiefs player props

Both teams have offensive stars who likely will determine the next Super Bowl champion. In Patrick Mahomes, the Kansas City Chiefs have someone who might be among the greatest to ever play the game.

In addition to Mahomes, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and running back Isiah Pacheco will be closely watched – and probably attract plenty of wagers on their performance.

San Francisco quarterback Brock Purdy isn’t on Mahomes’ talent level, but he led the 49ers to the top seed in the NFC and to playoff victories over the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions. In fact, San Francisco is a 2-point favorite at most sportsbooks.

San Francisco has an excellent tight end in George Kittle, plus power running back Christian McCaffrey, the NFL’s leading rusher with 1,459 yards. Receiver Deebo Samuel, who is a threat to run on direct handoffs as well as receptions, will offer excitement to what is shaping up to be a terrific game.

Three player prop bets we like:

Christian McCaffrey Super Bowl props: Anytime touchdown scorer (-315 or better)

McCaffrey is the 49ers’ go-to player inside the red zone — especially inside the 5-yard line when he can grind out those final tough yards. He has two touchdowns in each of the Niners’ playoff games. The star running back has 11 touchdowns in his last eight games and finished the regular season with a whopping 21 scores. If the Niners are going to have a chance in this one, they’ll need to ride their talented back like they have all year.

Patrick Mahomes Super Bowl props: Over 259.5 passing yards (-112 or better)

Mahomes will be throwing the ball early and often as Chiefs coach Andy Reid likes to establish the passing attack. Mahomes averaged 261.4 passing yards per game this season but has hit the over on this mark just once in three playoff games. Still, the two-time Super Bowl MVP thrives in the limelight and we like him to have another strong performance in the biggest game of the year.

Isiah Pacheco Super Bowl props: Over 66.5 yards rushing (-109 or better)

Pacheco will have the bulk of the Chiefs’ carries, especially if Reid’s game plan works. Kansas City hopes to get the lead and keep the ball primarily on the ground in the second half. The second-year running back averaged 66.8 YPG during the regular season but has taken his game to another level in the postseason. Pacheco has surpassed this mark in all three playoff games and five of the last six in total.

Kansas City should be able to score at least 24 points. The Chiefs scored 27 against Buffalo and 17 against Baltimore in the playoffs after averaging 28.9 points in the regular season (third in NFL). In San Francisco’s two playoff games, Green Bay scored 21 and Detroit scored 31. The Niners allowed 17.5 points per game in the regular season (third in NFL).

San Francisco Super Bowl game props: The 49ers to convert on a fourth down. Yes (-120 or better)

Expect 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan to take a chance or two on fourth down to keep a drive alive, or to avoid a field goal attempt in quest of a touchdown.
