Big East standings, schedule, predictions, and games to watch (Week of Nov. 7, 2022)

The 2022-23 college basketball season is here. Each week, we'll take a look at the different Big East college games and highlight a few standout games.

No. 16 Villanova is the only Big East team going on the road this week. It's the first time the teams have met since 2020. Khalif Battle is injured for Temple. The Owls are coming off of their best season under head coach Aaron McKie. This is Villanova's first road game since the new-look team was formed.

La Salle and Villanova are playing a special season-opening game on Monday, Nov. 7 at 6:30 p.m. ET. Both teams are debuting new head coaches. Fran Dunphy is back in the Big 5 with his first head coaching gig since coaching Temple in 2019.

Shaheen Holloway's new team, Seton Hall, is playing a MAAC school Monmouth on Saturday. Shaheens former team Saint Peter's is hosting his old one, which went to the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight last season. The team was gutted after Hollowy's departure, with many players going to transfer. Set on Hall has more experienced players and is in better shape overall.

The games this week are on FS1. The rest of the games are available on the FS2. The games will be shown in a format similar to NFL RedZone. They are: New Orleans at Butler, Merrimack at St. John’s, Morgan State at Xavier, Stonehill at UConn, Loyola (Md.) at DePaul, Radford at Marquette, St Thomas (Minnesota) at Creighton, 8:30 p.m. and Monmouth at Seton Hall, 9 p., onFS1 and 10 p,m., FS.2
