Blue Jackets beat Penguins in preseason, Gaudreau Laine chemistry

The Blue Jackets lost 3-2 to the Pittsburgh Penguins in overtime. The second game was played at Nationwide Arena. Johnny Gaudreau, Justin Danforth and Jakub Voracek scored for the Jackets.

Blue Jackets beat Penguins in preseason, Gaudreau and Laine finding chemistry. They were playing with Kent Johnson, the No. 5 overall pick from the 2021 draft, for the second scrimmage and Sunday's game. Assistant coach Pascal Vincent was pleased with how Johnson played between his experienced wingers. Laines and Gudreau were joking about Johnson's performance. He's running for Calder and Selke awards. The team is looking for a new coach. It's not rocket science. Linnen wants to see if there's chemistry between the two. Guggenheim wants them to play well together.

Justin Danforth scored twice in the Blue Jackets' 3-0 win over the Penguins. Dan Forth scored 10 goals in 45 games last season. Vincent is not surprised by Dan forth's performance.   He is in good shape, has an engine, good shot and good mindset. He can play wing or center.

Josh Dunne dropped the gloves with Xavier Ouellet during the third period of the Blue Jackets' preseason game against the Penguins. Mathieu Olivier was acquired in a trade with the Nashville Predators in June. Dunna played just 29 games with Cleveland Monsters last season before missing the rest of it with an injury.
