Blue Stripe Runs Away From Shedaresthedevil in Clement Hirsch
Pozo de Luna's Blue Stripe won the GI Clement L. Hirsch S. qualifier at Del Mar. It was her first win in the big leagues of American racing. She beat defending champion Shedaresthedevil and three other rivals. Bluestripe is a Group 1 winner in her native Argentina. She won GII Santa Margarita S at Santa Anita on April 30 and G2 Santa Maria S on June 18.
Blue Stripe is one of 59 stakes winners, 49 graded/group stakes winner and 24 Grade I/Group 1 winners for influential South American sire Equal Stripes. She is a half-sister to multimillionaire and 2019 GI Breeders' Cup Distaff heroine Blue Prize (Arg) (Pure Prize), who sold for $5 million to OXO Equine two days later at Fasig-Tipton November. Blues for Sale has a 2-year-old Suggestive Boy ( Arg) filly named Blue Coast (Argentine). Clement Hirsch won $400,000 at Del Mar on Saturday.
