Bochy, Shildt, Washington reportedly top White Sox manager candidates

Tony La Russa won't return as manager of the White Sox. Bruce Bochy, Joe Girardi and Mike Shildt are the top three candidates to replace him.

The Chicago White Sox want to hire a veteran manager to replace Tony La Russa. Bruce Bochy, Mike Shildt, Ron Washington, John Gibbons, Bo Porter, Joe Girardi and Joe Maddon are some of the managers who fit the bill.

Bochy, Shildt and Washington are the leading candidates for the White Sox manager's job. Shildat managed the Cardinals for three consecutive playoff seasons in 2019-2021. Washington managed in the World Series several times as the manager of the Texas Rangers from 2007-2014. He is currently the Braves' third base coach. The team has World Cup aspirations.
