Boss Southampton nearly hired in 2018 available as Hasenhuttl faces sack

Alan Curbishley was once considered a good bet to be Southampton's next manager.

Paulo Sousa has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs in recent years. The former Charlton Athletic boss is also rumoured to be interested in Inter Milan and Ralph Hasenhuttl's job at Southampton.

Ralph Hasenhuttl is facing the sack at Southampton. Sousa came close to taking over at the club in 2018. He was in talks with the Southampton chiefs around that time. Now, the CEO Martin Semmens is in charge and Gao Jisheng is long gone.

Sousa is being touted as a possible manager for Southampton. Hasenhuttl is facing the sack.
