Sky Bet Fan Hope Survey results

  • Bournemouth fan hope rating: 5.7/10
  • Predicted league finish: 12th

Bournemouth earned automatic promotion to the Premier League last season under Scott Parker, who knows from experience the challenge the club face in 2022-23.

Parker took Fulham up from the Championship in 2019-20, only for the Cottagers to return after one season, and his brief for the coming campaign will be to ensure Bournemouth avoid the same fate.

They have made just two summer signings to date – defender Ryan Fredericks and midfielder Joe Rothwell – and 45 per cent of Cherries fans who participated in the Sky Bet Hope Fan Survey want their side to add a new striker before the window closes on September 1.

Bournemouth to avoid relegation odds

Bournemouth’s main aim in the 2022-23 Premier League season is to make sure they are back for the 2023-24 campaign.

When Parker managed Fulham to promotion three seasons ago, he tried to keep them playing an expansive game in the top flight, but they managed only 27 league goals and were relegated.

It will be interesting to see if he opts for a more pragmatic approach at the Vitality Stadium or sticks to his principles, but either way the bookmakers seem to think that Bournemouth are set for a quick return to the Championship.

Bournemouth Golden Boot odds

Dominic Solanke scored 29 goals in Bournemouth’s promotion campaign and is the clear favourite to be their top scorer as they return to the top flight.

That was almost twice as many as he managed in the same division the previous season and a vast improvement on the three he netted for the Cherries in 32 Premier League outings in 2019-20, all of which came in the last four of those matches.

The former Chelsea and Liverpool striker is a massive 80/1 to be the division’s leading scorer with Sky Bet, but a safer bet at 2/5 to be Bournemouth’s marksman, which seems a good accumulator option.

  • Dominic Solanke to be Bournemouth’s top-scorer @ 2/5 with Sky Bet
  • Dominic Solanke to be the Premier League top-scorer @ 80/1 with Sky Bet

Bournemouth to finish higher than Fulham odds

Just two points separated Championship winners Fulham and Bournemouth in the automatic promotion places last season, and Parker’s move from Craven Cottage to the south coast has added to the rivalry between the clubs.

With the emphasis on survival for both this season, it will be fascinating to see which club adapts better on their return to the top flight.

Sky Bet is offering generous odds of 2/1 on Bournemouth finishing above Fulham, which a lot of supporters may find appealing.
