Arabian Knight took a big chunk of money Friday to becomethe odds-on favorite in early betting for the $6 million Breeders’ Cup Classic.The 40th running of the race is scheduled for Saturday at 6:40 p.m. EDT atSanta Anita.

The 3-year-old colt owned by Amr Zedan and trained by four-timeClassic winner Bob Baffert brings a 3-for-4 record to Santa Anita this weekend.Flavien Prat will keep the ride after he took Arabian Knight to victory Sept. 2in the Grade 1 Pacific Classic at Del Mar. The son of Uncle Mo has beentraining since up to Saturday’s race.

Arabian Knight had been installed as the 3-1 morning-linefavorite Monday, when 13 horses were entered for America’s richest race.

A maximum of 12 will start since Belmont Stakes winnerArcangelo was withdrawn Tuesday because of heat in his left hind ankle. Hisname remained a betting option until Friday afternoon, when the operators ofwagering platforms removed him. The formal scratching of Arcangelo will nothappen until Saturday at 11 a.m. EDT.
