Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Sprint Predictions, Best Bets, Odds

Goodnight Olive is the favorite in the $1 million Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Sprint (G1) at Keeneland. Chad Brown-trained filly was an impressive winner of the Grade 1 Ballerina in her most recent start. Echo Zulu, daughter of 2-year-old champion Echo, is also a contender. Ce Ce, 6, won the race last year at Del Mar and has added three more graded stakes wins this year.

Goodnight Olive is the favorite in Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Sprint. She has won five straight races. Goodnight Olimp won the Grade 1 Ballerina at Saratoga last time.

Ce Ce won Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Sprint last year. She comes in off a sharp win in the Grade 3 Chillingworth at Santa Anita. This is a deep field with plenty of early speed.

Echo Zulu has only made three starts this year and her only career loss was in the Grade 1 Kentucky Oaks. She returned from a layoff last time and dominated the one-mile Dogwood Stakes at Churchill Downs.

Frank's Rockette won the stakes at Charles Town. She finished 11th in the Breeders' Cup Sprint two years ago at Keeneland. The 5-year-old daughter of Into Mischief likes to be close to the early pace.

Obligatory is trained by Bill Mott and is the top pick for the race. She came from behind to win the Derby City Distaff at Churchill Downs. She is coming off a third behind Goodnight Olive last time in the Ballerina.

Wicked Halo is a Steve Asmussen-trained daughter of Gun Runner. She won the Grade 2 Raven Run at Keeneland last time. Wicked Halo will be tested by older horses for the first time in Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Sprint.

Lady Rocket is a danger in any race she runs. She came second to Kimari last time. Lady Rocket will be under the pace pressure on Saturday.

Slammed is a filly trained by Todd Fincher. She won at Keeneland in the Grade 2 Thoroughbred Club of America Stakes.

Edgeway is a winner of 8-of-13 lifetime and 3-out-4 this year. She was second in the Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Sprint last year and she has won three of four this season.

Chi Town Lady won the Grade 1 Test at odds of 17/1 last time. She will come to this one a fresh filly having not raced for three months.

Chain of Love is the only Japanese entrant at the Breeders’ Cup. She has only won 3 of 22 starts in her lifetime, but she has been better since switching to the dirt.

Hot Peppers has been on the early lead in most of her nine career starts. Khozan filly has won two stakes at Belmont Park this summer but was unable to keep the success going at Saratoga.

Sterling Silver is a 3-year-old daughter of Cupid. She is 0-for-6 in her career against open company. Her career-best finish came two races ago when she finished second behind Wicked Halo in the Prioress.
