Bees can bother City

Manchester City end their title-winning campaign at Brentford, who could qualify for next season’s Europa Conference League with victory over the champions.

It’s one down and two to go for treble-chasers City, who finish another triumphant Premier League season in west London on Sunday.

So with an FA Cup final against rivals Manchester United less than a week later and the Champions League final a week after that, do not be surprised if Etihad boss Pep Guardiola shuffles the pack at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Hosts Brentford have been rock-solid on home soil this season, losing just two of their 18 league games in their own backyard.

Thomas Frank’s Bees are the only side to have defeated Manchester City at the Etihad this term so they undoubtedly are capable of stinging the visitors.

Both teams have scored in seven of City’s previous 10 Premier League matches and goals at both ends appeals again on the final day.

Brentford vs Manchester City tip 1: Brentford or draw double chance and both teams to score @ 7/4 with Betfred

Mbeumo can impress again

Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa have had to shoulder the burden of Brentford’s attacking responsibility in Ivan Toney’s absence, and the pair have done so admirably.

Both got on the scoresheet in the Bees’ 3-1 win at Tottenham last weekend and they look the biggest threats to City’s rearguard.

Mbeumo netted twice against Spurs to take his Premier League tally to nine goals – only Toney has netted more for Brentford this season – and he could be the player who causes the champions most trouble on Sunday.

He looks overpriced to get on the scoresheet at 13/5 with Betfred.

Phillips could find his way into the book

Kalvin Phillips has endured a frustrating first season at Manchester City, starting just one league game since his move from Leeds United last summer.

However, he may be handed a starting berth on the final day of the campaign as he attempts to show his worth to Guardiola.

Phillips was booked 14 times in his two Premier League campaigns with the Elland Road club and he picked up a yellow when coming on as a second-half substitute at Bournemouth in March. Take him to be shown a card on Sunday.

Eight of Manchester City’s past 10 games have featured three or more goals and backing over 2.5 looks worthwhile in this clash, given the threat posed by the home team’s attacking talents.

City have taken 233 corners in the Premier League this season – second only to Newcastle (267) – while Brentford are strong at set pieces, an aspect of their play they may look to utilise against the champions. Round off a #PickYourPunt bet with over 7.5 corners.
