Guardiola’s men to bounce back

Manchester City were held to a 1-1 draw by Nottingham Forest at the weekend despite having 23 shots at the City Ground.

While that has handed back the advantage in the title race to Arsenal, all will be forgiven if Pep Guardiola can finally deliver the Champions League.

A trip to RB Leipzig in the round of 16, first leg could be just the tonic for City. The sides met in the group stage last season when City lost 2-1 at the Red Bull Arena but won 6-3 at the Etihad Stadium.

Leipzig are down in fifth in the Bundesliga and lost their last home game to Union Berlin so we are expecting City to come out on top.

RB Leipzig conceded nine goals in the Champions League group stage – the highest number of any of the 16 sides who qualified for the knockout rounds.

While there has been a debate about Manchester City’s efficiency in attack since the addition of Erling Haaland, they have still shown they can take advantage of leaky defences.

There were over 3.5 goals in half of City’s group stage games this season as well as in two of their past three matches.
