Liverpool continue the defence of their FA Cup title on Sunday afternoon as they visit Brighton on the south coast looking to make it into the last 16.

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side needed a replay in the third round to progress past Wolves and maintain their bid to win back to back FA Cup titles.

The Reds will be hoping for a much better result than on their last visit to Brighton, which ended in a 3-0 defeat for Klopp’s men just a fortnight ago.

The defending champions go into the game with just one in their last five matches in all competitions, which came in the third round win at Wolves.

Last season’s Premier League runners up are currently down in ninth in the table after a disappointing opening half to the season, three places below their high flying opponents on Sunday.

The Seagulls take a run of one defeat in six matches into the tie, of which they’ve won four, including a big 5-1 away win at Middlesbrough to book their spot in round four.

Roberto de Zerbi’s men are currently five points behind fifth placed Tottenham in the Premier League standings, but the Seagulls have played two games fewer than the north London side, so the hunt for European football is very much on.

Brighton have a very good record against Liverpool in recent matches, with the Reds winning one of their last six matches between the sides.

Liverpool’s Mo Salah has had a quiet opening half of the season by his high standards, but the Egyptian has still managed to big himself 17 goals in all competitions this season, including one in the last round.

Premier League matches have been averaging more than 10 corners per game this season.
