Buescher looks to be playoff spoiler in Texas
Chris Buescher won his first race for rebranded RFK Racing last week at Bristol Motor Speedway. Brad Keselowski bought the team from Jack Roush and offered Buecher a contract extension. Biecher and Keselsowy finished eighth and ninth in the exhibition All-Star race at Texas Motor. The second round of the NASCAR playoffs starts Sunday at the same place.
Texas Motor Speedway has been in the playoff rotation since 2005. The demise of the speedway can be linked to a 2017 repaving and reconfiguration in Turns 1 and 2. Texas has a difficult track for teams. Next up is Talladega Superspeedway and then the field will be trimmed by four at The Roval at Charlotte MotorSpeedway. Denny Hamlin expects passing to be difficult at Texas.
Chase Elliott is back to the points lead. Austin Cindric is ranked last in the 12-driver field. Christopher Bell is seventh in standings. Kyle Larson is the FanDuel favorite to win Sunday at Texas.
