Buffalo Sabres 75 Bold Predictions for 2023-24: Prediction 41

The Buffalo Sabres were a high-scoring team in 2022-23, and they got hot again during the latter stages of March and into April.

Alright, let’s get back into the whole making a bold prediction while correlating it with numbers thing – that’s more of my forte than anything else. And today, we got #41 on the pedestal, so what does it have to do with the fact the Buffalo Sabres got so hot in late March and throughout April 2023?

Well, Buffalo’s getting hot again during that same time frame in 2024, except they won’t be slumping during the first three weeks of March. Instead, they will better resemble the team that took the ice in March 2022. But starting on the 24th against Calgary, they commence the first of their final 11 games of the season, and that’s when they will get ultra-hot as far as this bold prediction goes.

Buffalo Sabres get ultra-hot in final 11 games, score 41 goals

Of course, the Sabres will have some much-needed help in scoring 3.72 points per game in those final 11 contests. While Calgary could be a manageable opponent, the Blue and Gold will have a challenge on their hands when they face the Ottawa Senators, New Jersey Devils, and Toronto Maple Leafs to close out the month.

But after that, they have tilts against the Washington Capitals, Philadelphia Flyers, and Detroit Red Wings, and they could realistically score 15 goals in that span alone. Dallas will be a tough opponent before they face Washington again, and finally, the Florida Panthers and Tampa Bay Lightning.

Florida factors in as another tough opponent, but the Lightning could be yet another team Buffalo can snag at least four goals against. This game will put them right at the 41-goal mark in those last 11 contests, and they will enter the playoffs as one of the NHL’s hottest teams.

At this point, we will all be asking whether the Buffalo Sabres will be able to keep up the heat when they’re introduced to playoff hockey. If they can match their opponents’ intensity, then the answer is a resounding yes.
