Bundy Bar rides again: NSW Waratahs plan to revive party zone at new Allianz Stadium

The Waratahs are planning to revive the Bundy Bar at their home ground in 2023. The new Allianz Stadium will have standing areas for active support. Like the old Bundy bar, the northern end of the new venue will stay open after games. NSW Rugby is talking to prospective commercial partners.

Jim Lenehan passed away last week. He played for the Wallabies straight out of school in the late 1950s. His picture is one of the iconic Australian rugby pictures. The poster of Lnehan’s diving try and a picture of 1927-28 Waratahs were ripped down and thrown away. They are to get a new home in new NSW Rugby Centre of Excellence at Daceyville.

Marika Koroibete was the star player for the Wallabies in their last match. He was honoured as an honorary chairman of Rugby Australia. The Fijian winger was praised for his tackle on Makazole Mapimpi. South Africa complained about it, but SANZAAR and World Rugby didn't find it a problem.

Joseph Suaalii is the world's highest-paid rugby player. Maro Itoje is on $1.7 million a year. The real salary bracket for Sualie would be $500,000 to $700,00. There is tension inside Australian rugby about the “league hit list” storyline.

Darcy Breen will play tight-head prop for Sydney University in the Shute Shield grand final against Gordon. Brenn's grandfather played for Gordon in a grand-final in 1972. Sydney Uni won 10-6 at Sydney Sports Ground.
