It hasn’t been a great first half of the campaign for Burnley, who sit in 19th place on 11 points after 18 matches. Vincent Kompany’s side came out victorious in their last top-flight outing, beating Fulham 2-0 at Craven Cottage, ending a three-match winless streak (W0 D1 L2).

Jurgen Klopp’s side managed a 1-1 draw against Arsenal at Anfield on Saturday to extend their unbeaten streak to 11 (W6 D5 L0), leaving the visitors in second place on 39 points. They are a point behind leaders Arsenal, but can return to the top of the tree with a win here on Boxing Day, with The Gunners not in action until the 28th December.

Burnley vs Liverpool Tips

Ollie Watkins To Score

December has been the best month of the season so far for Burnley fans with victories coming against Fulham and Sheffield United as well as a point on the road at Brighton. Seven of their 11 points have arrived in December and with performances notably improving, we think they can make a real game of this against a Liverpool side that faced a grueling game against Arsenal last time out.

The Burnley-based selection we have taken a lean towards is for striker Zeki Amdouni to register Over 0.5 shots on target at 11/10. BetMGM are the best-priced bookmaker at the time of writing with other firms such as Betictor taking a much more conservative approach at just 40/85.

The 23-year-old may only have two league goals to his name so far this campaign, but he has been consistently hitting the target. In fact, in 11 of his last 14 league matches he has recorded at least one shot on target and we are surprised to see this line chalked-up at odds-against, despite the tricky opponents for Burnley on Boxing Day.

Ollie Watkins To Score

For those looking for something at a bit more of a price, we’ve also picked a three-legged Bet Builder consisting of Mo Salah to score, along with Wataru Endo and Wilson Odobert to be carded at 28/1.

With two goals and four assists, no current Premier League player has been involved in more goals on Boxing Day in the competition than Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah. He has also been directly involved in 15 goals in his last 13 away appearances in the top-flight and we are backing him to find the net at Turf Moor.

Japanese midfielder Wataru Endo has been carded in three different competitions for The Reds this season, and in the Premier League he has seen yellow in four of his last six appearances.

The other player we are siding with for a card is Wilson Odobert. The young frenchman scored a fantastic goal at Fulham last week and has been booked in two of his five league starts this term. Odobert will face a tough test here with plenty of defensive duties with Mo Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold featuring on his side of the pitch. Combining Odobert and Endo to be carded, along with Salah to score pays 28/1.
