Crystal Palace vs. Tottenham Odds, Predictions & Betting Tips

Crystal Palace have won just one of their last 16 top-flight meetings with Tottenham and the pair face off on Friday night for their last battle. Our man Anthony Eadson provided a profitable preview of Spurs’ most recent outing on Monday evening and he returns with his two best bets which you can read more about below.

It has been a relatively good start to the campaign for Roy Hodgson and Crystal Palace. The Eagles have accrued 12 points so far from their nine matches with, three wins, three draws and three defeats. Palace are unbeaten at home in their last three home league matches, however, the two most recent of those have ended in goalless draws to Fulham and Nottingham Forest.

To say that Ange Postecouglou has made an impression at Spurs would be an understatement. The Aussie manager has collected 23 points from his first nine Premier League matches as we approach the end of October - The most of any manager in manager in the history of the competition.

Spurs can extend their lead at the top of the table to five points with a win against Palace before their rivals play later on this weekend. The visitors are priced at 4/5 for the win, while the draw is chalked up at 11/4. For those who fancy Palace to halt the Spurs train, 10/3 is available with most betting sites.

After finding the net against Fulham on Monday evening, Son Heung-min has now scored 110 Premier League goals. Only 24 players in the competition’s history have scored more and following on from tipping him up at 21/20 to score against The Cottagers, I’m more than willing to dip back in and take the 11/8 that is available for a repeat against Palace.

Spurs have now scored at least two goals in eight of their nine league matches this term and it’s fair to say that the link-up of Son and James Maddison has been a key factor. The South Korean is one of the best finishers in the world and consistently overperforms his xG.

Since being moved to centre-forward in the game against Burnley at Turf Moor, Son has managed seven goals in his last six matches and backing him to score against a Palace side who shipped four against Newcastle last week will be my main play of the evening.

Destiny Udogie to be carded & James Maddison Over 1 shot on Target

I’ve also had a couple of quid on Destiny Udogie to be carded and James Maddison to record Over 1 shot on target. The Spurs left-back has impressed so far this term, but on Friday he will be up against the most fouled player in the league last season, Jordan Ayew. Udogie already has been booked in three of his nine matches this term and could struggle against Ayew who has been fouled 31 times this season - more than any other player in the division.

With this bet being with William Hill please note they express this selection for James Maddison to record 2+ shots on target as ‘Over 1 shot on target. Only Erling Haaland has recorded more shots on target in the league in 2023/24 than Maddison and he has cleared this line of 2+ in five of his last seven appearances for Spurs.

Combining Udogie to be carded and Maddison to register Over 1 shot on target pays a tempting 12/1 with William Hill, with others such as bet365 going much shorter at just under 7/1.
